FOUNDER, MUSICIAN, DANCER & TEACHER

Aarathy Arun is a musician and dancer with over 35 years of experience in learning, practising, and performing Indian classical music and dance, including 12 years of teaching experience.She is the Founder of Samarpana Arts Festival (Birmingham) and the Founder-Director and Artistic Director of Deekshaa, where she also serves as the Choreographer and Movement Director. Aarathy also serves as 'Indian Arts Leader' at OVAL, a diverse arts consortium, initially funded by the Birmingham City Council (2019-2021). Aarathy Arun is the Founder - Director, Choreographer and Lead Instructor at Aarathy Arun Global Arts. Through her academic and artistic vision, Aarathy has created and launched 4 structured diploma programmes - Natya, Carnatic Music, Bharatanatyam, and Kuchipudi - developed to support long term artistic growth and professional readiness in students. These signature diploma courses are affiliated to Griffin College London. Aarathy Arun's training in Carnatic music has been under the guidance of Smt. Ajithakumari M (M.A., M.Phil in Music, Swathi Thirunal Academy, Kerala) and Smt. Prarthana Sai Narasimhan (eminent Carnatic musician, Chennai). In dance, she has trained in Bharatanatyam with Lathika Sasikumar, Kalakshetra Hema Gomez, in Kuchipudi with Smt. Chitra Suresh (Pranamya Arts, Leicester) & Acharya Srimayi Vempati (Head Instructor, Kuchipudi Art Academy, Chennai), and in Natyasastra & Karanas with Dr. Sujatha Mohan (research guide, senior disciple of Padmabhushan Dr Padma Subramanyam). Aarathy's special artistic interests are in Natyasastra studies and Kuchipudi, with a strong focus on abhinaya, narrative clarity, continuity and flow in movements and, building meaningful audience connection. Her work bridges traditional classical frameworks with thoughtful contemporary application, emphasising integrity, depth, and artistic responsibility. In 2025, she was the winner of 'WOW Awards for Cultural Impact' by Kaushalya UK. She was selected as stage 1 cohort of 'Creative Growth Programme West Midlands' by Creative UK in partnership with West Midlands Combined Authority, funded by DCMS. She was the winner of 'Cultural Guardian Award 2026' by Shakti Sangamam UK.

Arun Kumar is a firmware engineer by profession and a dedicated supporter of the arts. He plays an integral role in Aarathy Arun Global Arts, supporting all artistic initiatives, including community arts participation, workshops, festivals, and events. Arun also oversees the organisation's IT, infrastructure, and strategic management, and contributes as a sponsor and advisor, helping to nurture and expand the reach of the organisation's creative programmes.

DANCER & TEACHER

Mira Mahesh is a Bharatanatyam dancer with a Master's degree from Nalanda Nritya Kala Mahavidyalaya, Mumbai, under the guidance of Dr Kanak Rele. She began her training at the age of five with her first guru, Udayogamandala Vikraman Nair. Over the years, she has built a solid foundation in technique, expression, and traditional aesthetics. Her practice reflects discipline, grace, and storytelling. Mira continues to pursue Bharatanatyam with dedication through teaching, performance, and lifelong learning.

Ebin Anil

MUSICIAN & TEACHER

Ebin Anil holds a degree in Carnatic Music from Swathi Thirunal Music College, Thiruvananthapuram, and completed five years of training in Kathakali Sangeetham and Carnatic Music at Kerala Kalamandalam. He is currently pursuing training in Hindustani Classical Music. His mentors include Adoor P. Sudarshanan for Carnatic music, Abhradita Banerjee for Hindustani music, and Madambi Subramanyan Ashan and Sadanam Shyamalan Ashan for Kathakali Sangeetham. He has seven years of overall teaching experience, including four years teaching Deekshaa's students. He currently works as a music teacher at Delhi Public School.

Dr Sherin Jos

CARNATIC MUSIC VOCALIST & TEACHER

Dr Sherin Jos is a Carnatic music vocalist and teacher with over 35 years of experience as a performer and mentor. She has performed on esteemed platforms including All India Radio, Asianet Kerala, and Kairali TV, and is also formally trained in Hindustani classical music under the Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Mandal. Deeply committed to music education, she has guided students of all ages and has a special focus on neurodivergent children, using music as an inclusive and empowering medium. In the UK, she has trained children's choirs, fostering cultural connection and musical confidence. Beyond the concert stage, Dr Sherin Jos is a doctor, Director of Pathology Services, and senior consultant histopathologist, combining artistic depth with discipline and leadership.
